Great spot for Chinese food on Staten Island especially if you want to eat in. Nice clean old school dining room with comfy booths. Lots of crunchy noodles to munch on when you get to the table. Everything has always been fresh and tasty. Workers are nice and accommodating. Good comes out fast
Hands down the best Chinese restaurant on Staten Island! I love the wonton soup, the broth cannot be beat.
Ordered through seamless and food was delivered fast. Food was still hot and delicious. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp (didn't know it was fried but still good) they separate the sauce so you can dip the shrimp in it which I like better. I also got the beef with peppers and onions , string beans and chicken Lo mein. All were good they do have different sizes I got the string beans and beef dishes in the small size. It good enough for me I don't need to have leftovers or waste food. Overall I would definitely recommend this place and I will be ordering again to try their other dishes. They also give you fortune cookies, sauces and oolong tea bags which I think is great! A lot of places now don't even give you fortune cookies anymore with your order, so thank you and keep up the good service!
Went about a month ago with my family. Everything was delicious and the place is under new ownership! Highly recommend! Honey Walnut Shrimp and lamp chops were excellent.
The best Chinese takeout in the area. The other places don't even compare. We moved into Staten Island a few months ago and ordered from a different Chinese takeout place each week. At one point I think we kind of slumped our shoulders and gave up because the best place we found was just barely passable (maybe two and a half stars if I was going to review it). Then we found China Chalet and haven't ordered from any place else since then, which I guess says everything it needs to.
I'm glad this spot reopened with new management. This is now my new go to spot for Chinese food on the Island. Everything always comes quick, hot, and fresh. A lot less greasy than other Chinese spots I've tried. Also got complimentary sesame balls with my order!! If you haven't tried recently, I promise you will not regret it. Best general's chicken, 100% recommend!
I liked it a lot... Better than a few other places close by. No one place gets Americanized Chinese food perfect. What is that really? What I liked that the fried rice was tame enough to be eaten with stronger dishes...we had General Tso's chicken, sea bass with scallions. The service was very good. They accommodated my elderly parents without a problem. If you are a curmudgeon.. Then please go and find your Chinese American unicorn.
